MIRACLE ON A WINTER NIGHT

While playing by the sea, two children find on the backdrop a meticulously inlaid wooden box, locked and still well preserved. When they open it, with the help of their grandfather, they find an ancient pocket watch and a discolored note on which is written: "Happy Christmas, dear little Ada. Your brother Nikolas". Filled with amazement, the grandfather remembers a sort of legend that hovers over the town of Korvajoki, ever since it was a tiny fishing village: "Imagine having immense wings like those of an eagle, which lift you into the air and carry over the sea, to the island of the Pukki family. Fly with your imagination ... ". Nikolas lives with his family on the tiny island off the coast, when a raging storm wrecks his parents and little sister. The child, who is only five years old, is adopted by all the families in the village and slowly forgets his fear, accepts love and discovers new sources of joy. But he never forgets his beloved little sister, until one day, in the village, a new girl named Ada is born, who manages to cause an incredible transformation in Nikolas. Age of reading: from 9 years.
