In the year that the UN devotes to biodiversity, here is a richly illustrated volume describing the animal kingdom. Organized according to a rigorous scientific scheme, the chapters follow the classification identified by the Swedish naturalist Linnaeus in the 1700s, on which the scientific nomenclature is still based. Starting from the simplest and most primitive forms of animal life, protozoa and metazoa, we pass to the chapters of worms, arthropods (including spiders and insects), molluscs, echinoderms, until we reach the vertebrates that are treated more relaxed: fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Reading age: 8 years.
