Umberto and Elisa are two travelling hearts that meet in appearance by chance on the train from Rome to Turin.
He crosses Italy every week to stop only a few minutes at the station where in mysterious circumstances forty years before Teresa died, the woman she was in love with when she was a young worker at the factory.
Elisa just left a lifelong companion and is going to the woman she's in love with. The fortuitous encounter between the two is sealed by a fleeting kiss. The story, pushed by the verses of "Fiori of the evil" of Baudelaire, rebounds from the life of one to the life of the other in an intriguing succession of existential doubts and extreme decisions.
