Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura decide to undergo a very difficult test aimed at determining which genin (novice ninja) qualify to be promoted to chunin (mid-level ninja). Naruto's group is one of the youngest, and the presence of numerous adult ninjas on their umpteenth attempt to pass the exam confirms his toughness. The test will be divided into several parts, each directed by a different jonin (expert ninja), the first of which will consist of a written assignment… a real damnation for an ignoramus like Naruto!
